Lunar New Year Dinner 2025

To welcome the Year of the Snake, I hosted an intimate Lunar New Year dinner in Cambridge—an evening shaped by my Cantonese roots and a desire to create space for connection across cultures.

The dinner unfolded slowly, intentionally. Dishes arrived over the course of the night, allowing conversation to ebb and flow between bites of homestyle Cantonese cooking. Guests brought their own drinks, with handwritten tags identifying each bottle—a small gesture that made the table feel more collaborative, more alive.

At each seat, a custom-designed paper placemat subtly structured the experience. Illustrated outlines marked the placement of plate, cup, chopsticks, and a red envelope—inviting a quiet orderliness reminiscent of family dinners, where every detail is intentional, but nothing is too precious.
